We are releasing collaborative items with New York-based artist Aurel Schmidt. Aurel Schmidt builds his unique worldview using "trash" left behind in everyday life, such as cigarette butts, candy wrappers, matches, and empty cans, as motifs, expressing "memento mori," which evokes the fragility of modern life and the transience of life. Although his works are composed of diverse and decadent motifs, they have a humorous and approachable atmosphere, conveying the energy and hustle and bustle of the streets of New York. For this collaboration, Aurel Schmidt created special illustrations that blend elements of PORTER, based on his memories of visiting Japan. Using pure white bonded nylon as a canvas, Aurel Schmidt's worldview is expressed in a bold all-over print. This special collection consists of four items, each with a charm featuring a protective amulet motif. The nylon bonded fabric on which the illustrations are printed is characterized by its beautiful luster as well as its plump and soft texture. The zippers feature playful details with colorful elements in shades of blue, green, and pink. The interior is lined with an original tag designed by Aurel Schmidt. The backpack boasts excellent visibility thanks to its drawstring closure that allows the opening to be wide. The main compartment can be accessed via a side zipper, making it easy to pack and unpack.
