The elegant "PORTER COUNTER" leather accessory series features the delicate double-stitched details often found on leather dress shoes. The cowhide leather is chrome-tanned, then tanned and resin-infused into the fibers for a fine finish. It is then flattened and smoothed in a vacuum dryer, then the grain is rubbed and coated with paint and synthetic resin. The lustrous, moderately soft leather exudes a luxurious feel. The interior is crafted from horsehide, the same leather used for lining leather shoes. Some styles feature a fine double stitching using a twin-needle sewing machine, similar to shoemaking. The collection also incorporates details unique to leather shoes, such as wallets, card cases, pen cases, and clutch bags, sewn with a dogtail motif. Some items feature a double-ringed loop sewn into the leather shoe's heel, reminiscent of the pull loops found on boots. *Dogtail is a type of "ichikawa" (traditional leather) in which a piece of leather is sewn onto the heel seam to reinforce it, as pressure is placed on the heel when putting on and taking off shoes. It is called dogtail because its shape resembles a dog's tail.
