This is the "GRIPPER" series produced in collaboration with BEAMS. Following the design of the "GRIPPER" series announced in 1981, we collaborated with BEAMS to produce it with updates to suit modern lifestyles. This series is one of the products exhibited at the "NY Designers Collective*" held in the same year as the announcement. In the 1980s, nylon bags were rare, and the all-black design was popular for its novelty. It is a meaningful series that has served as an opportunity to expand the brand recognition of "PORTER" both in Japan and overseas. The design of the 3-hole eyelet at the time of the announcement has been kept as it is, and it has been newly revived with specifications and item configurations that match modern lifestyles. Nylon fabric with bonding processing is used as the main material. The back side of the fabric is PVC processed, and the front side (PVC processed side) and the back side (nylon side) of the same fabric are used differently depending on the location, creating a design that allows you to enjoy the combination of materials. In addition, the bead, which is arranged to keep the shape of the bag clean, also plays a role in tightening the design. It is a cover for exclusive use of "Quobadis" trinote. It opens and closes with an elastic band, and has multiple storage spaces such as pen holders, card pockets, and zipper pockets, and an open pocket on the back for practical use. *New York Designers Collective is a group of designers that attracted attention in the 1980s with a line-up of world-famous designers. In 1981, PORTER became the first Japanese brand to be selected, and exhibited "GRIPPER" and other products at an exhibition in New York.
